This half term we will be exploring both the Arctic and the Antarctic, and finding out about what is the same and different in both of these polar regions.

We will be comparing Chellaston with polar regions and looking at the freezing temperatures in the Antarctic and the Arctic.

To work on our DT skills we will be learning about igloos before we design and build a miniature version of an igloo, using skills such as measuring, marking, cutting and joining.

In Science we will be looking at different materials and what they might be used for. We will learn about Preet Chandi and her amazing expeditions. We will design a waterproof coat for a teddy bear to help him go on an adventure. We will carry out investigations to discover how animals stay warm in the cold weather.

We will use books based on polar bears to support our English learning, we will use: 'The Last Polar Bear' and 'Leaf'.

In RE we continue to find out about Muslims and their beliefs.
