In our first Spring topic 'Where in the world are we?', we are investigating our local area, Chellaston and we will be learning to use Geographical vocabulary to describe it. We will use maps, plans and photographs to investigate it. We will extend our knowledge to learn names of countries in the UK, and the four capital cities within. We will be embarking on a local area walk, looking at the houses, the layout and the people who are in our local area. Later, we will move into our art topic wherein we will be moulding Ram sculptures from clay based on our iconic Ram sculpture in town. In Science, we will be studying plants which follows on from our prior Science learning on living things and their habitats, and the weather and seasons.
