Welcome to Homefields Primary School
On behalf of the staff, pupils and governors we would like to welcome you and your family to Homefields Primary School. At Homefields, we pride ourselves on providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where each child is encouraged to grow, learn, and succeed.
Our school is known for its strong values of ‘be kind, be courageous, be respectful,’ and these values guide everything we do. As reflected in our most recent Ofsted inspection, our school continues to uphold a high standard of education and care. Ofsted has highlighted our commitment to ‘high expectations for pupils’ achievement’, including the support we provide to pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). We believe every child can excel in an environment where kindness, respect, and responsibility are at the heart of daily interactions.
Here are a few highlights from the recent Ofsted report:
- The quality of education is rated Good, with a well-structured curriculum designed to build knowledge logically and effectively across subjects.
- Behaviour and attitudes are Outstanding. Our pupils consistently demonstrate respect, good manners, and positive behaviour, creating an environment where every child can thrive.
- Personal development is also rated Good, with a strong emphasis on building pupils’ leadership skills, responsibility, and understanding of the world around them.
- Leadership and management are rated Good. Our headteacher, Deborah Rollerson, leads with vision and passion, supported by the dedicated staff, the East Midlands Education Trust, and the Board of Trustees.
Through a creative and exciting curriculum, we want all children to develop a love of learning for life. We value all the aspects of our children's personalities and celebrate their individuality. We aspire to develop life-long learning skills in children and these are nurtured through our Learning Attitudes, enabling our children to be Resilient, Reciprocal, Resourceful, Reflective and Responsible.
Our school also provides a wide range of opportunities for personal growth and leadership, from being a school council member to taking part in the ‘Homefields Heart’ charity work. As one parent shared, “It is wonderful to see the nurturing care that the school provides. They create a very healthy environment for children to learn and grow in.”
Thank you for entrusting us with your child's education. Together, we will continue to build on the strong foundations laid by our school’s values and the success of our community.
The children and staff are a credit to our school, and I am extremely privileged and proud to have the role of Head Teacher and be a member of the school community.
Best wishes,
Mrs Debbie Rollerson - Headteacher
