Castles

During this half-term, our topic theme is Castles.

We will begin by exploring the castle setting in the story 'Jim and the Beanstalk', an alternative version of the classic, in which Jim helps the giant. We will then take a journey into the past, finding out about castle structures, as well as investigating different job roles within castle life. From creating their own model castles to mediaeval dancing, the children will be immersed in imaginative experiences to relive the past. 

At the end of the half-term, we will be going on a school trip to Bolsover Castle. On the day the children will have an abundance of opportunities to apply their new learning, exploring the castle and it's grounds. We cannot wait for the children to represent our school and demonstrate our learning attitude and core values within the local community.
